Forest Tree King Ruby

As you step out the woodland procession approaches, and lifted highly upon firm branches, all knotted in a crazy splendid mess, sits the Forest Tree King, and all about is perfect. The sunshine of the day perches upon his shoulder and he looks lovingly down into the gathered crowd.

Ribbons and bunting are everywhere, gold, green, blue, white, yellow, fluttering like butterflies in the light summer breeze.

'Welcome my friends' he says to the gathering, his deep voice, warm and welcoming. 'Now who shall sit on my throne for the day? Who shall bring me the most perfect leaf, for that is what you must do for me and then I will grant the winner a seat upon my throne for the day.'

He then pauses for effect though the words are the same every year.
'But there is one simple rule, do you know it?' and all about the crowd chant 'Yes, yes we do.'
'Well then that is good, but lets help our new friends freshly joined' and he turns to you and says.

'The leaves must fall naturally to the ground, none must be picked from the trees themselves, and be careful where you collect them from, it must be clean and free from litter of any kind. Now are you ready?'

Are you? Then nod to the Forest Tree King.

All about the courtyard the frenzy is about to begin, there is a magic hush as the King lifts his arm in readiness. Everyone holds their breath waiting for the signal, then he opens his palm and out spill hundreds of rose petals, and off like a gun the crowd goes, to the left and right, people scurrying and snatching at the leaves on the ground, along the side and all about. When they have what they believe to be the best, then they head off across the grass at a mad pace.

Then the King of the Forest turns gently to you again and asks kindly. 'What are you waiting for, find one superb leaf each, make it different from each others, so no two should be alike if you can help it, then take them to the five judges in the field.'

'The winner will have the chance to sit upon my throne, it is always the prize going far back into history, further than books, and long beards, and perhaps even before shoes were invented, and that is a very long way back indeed!'

So your task is set, each take a moment to find a leaf, as perfect as can be and then when you are ready, come back to me and read on.

As you approach Sam you can hear the scary sound of hissing.He was practising his moves so he can catch a prey and then suddenly he realises he is not alone.Sam slithers into the long,tall,wavy grass so you can only see his end of the tail it looks like he has a cut on his tail and then he asks "Do you have a leaf because if you don't then you are tress passing oh phew you do "he finished."Ok then I'm looking for a golden and kingly leaf." You probably think that the serpent's tails are a great gift.It was also night you can see the moon really clearly.The moon looked like a massive spot it also looked like a scone.Whereas,the sun is as hot as a fire ball.


"Now lay your leaves on the ground and see which one is the rarest and most kingly leaf so I can scare all the all the animals in the jungle."If you have the best leaf for my crown then you have won the competition.However,if there is more than one winner then see which one is the biggest so it will fit my head.

To say goodbye and thank you you have to make a strangling sign he will smile to you if you do it right.Say bye Sam!!!Oh no he's in a deep sleep already!!!!After all,he is quite lazy!

Billie bat is an adventures little sole he runs around all day trying to make his little wings take him souring into the air.
He loves ridged leaves so he can scamper up them but this time he needs something to pad his falls
He says anyone who finds the softest leaves are his friends for ever

As you approach wicky the worm he will be looking for someone to help him because yesterday it was a dusty and foggy day when he was riding his favourite horse called Winter and while Wicky went to get his best whip for his best horse

But when Wicky got back Winter was gone so Wicky the worm is on a mission to find his favourite horse in the whole intrie world he was really upset

Wicky set of on his mission but before he set of he sat on a log and he said "I shouldn't of left her all by herself said Wicky I should of stayed with her" " I need a strong and magical leaf" Wicky loudly said into the woods

"I have a strong and magical leaf "said Sam the slithering serpent " "give it to me"replied Wicky so Sam the slithering serpent give the strong and magical leaf to Wicky

Wicky held the leaf in the air and after and at last,Winter came back

So it's time to say goodbye to Wicky the worms adventures for now

Who ever has the strongest and the most magical looking leaf in your team is the winner for this competition the winner gets some of Wickys gold

My name is Ruby Prosser and I am in Ruby group. and my character is woody the woodlouse she is 10 years old woody the woodlouse she loves leafs leafs that has holes in it.Woody the woodlouse sead to line up all the leafs and I did it on a book.and soon woody the woodlouse was having fun playing bounce on the tree how happy can you be.for woody the woodlouse to communicate whith you you need to pick up a orange and yellow flamy leaf and if you give it to him he will fall asleep and he will also like a leaf with holes in as a climbing frame.

Woody the woodlouse is sometimes silly, by running in different directions, he wears a tutu to work and when you are near him you can hear a squeaking noise.

Squirming around, William is so happy because he found his football on the floor under a bush (there was loads of roots there) He was upset because he thought he couldn't play for Liverpool and he thought he would let his team down. Afterall, Liverpool won 7-6 to Real Madrid! Last time it was 2-1 to Real Madrid! Meanwhile, William slithered back home. I hope he got home safely. We don't want the snow to catch him up!

Line up your leaves in a row and feel which one is bigger, and it needs to be flappy and it can't break. For instance, if it brakes he will fall through and he doesnt want that!

The reason why he needs one like that is because he practices his backflips and his tricks and he needs a safe landing because otherwise he will hurt himself!

Magic millipede is a good guide and does magic tricks.

He wears lots of boots and a bow tie and is looking for a leaf of his hearts desire. It must be see through and quite small, the see through will be great a step a window, and the small one is good as a roof.

Are there two leaves which fit this criterial? One for each of the requirements.

The King waits eagerly, he has judged many leaves already, but lots of faces are a little glum as nobody has won yet today, but then you place your leaves on the ground and the Kings wise eyes light right up.

'Tell me,' he says, 'Which did Spider choose?

And which did Miss Fly-by-night the moth?

And what about Squire Squirrel, he likes shiny, which did he choose?

And Captain Cricket, he always chooses for worm, which did he like the best.

He talks so fast that you find your head gets dizzy, but you point as quickly as he asks.

'All these leaves are so beautiful,' he says 'but every competition needs a winner and the throne can only hold one person, so . . . ' and he pauses thinking for a moment.

'Is there one leaf which has been chosen more than the others?'

Who's leaf has been chosen the most times?

But the King shakes his head, 'We can't leave it like this, I have an idea, you can take it in turns on my throne.'

And an enormous raw of applause erupts from the crowd, hats are thrown into the air and music begins to start.

Then the Forest Tree King lifts you up high onto the throne of branches and all cheer at the first winner.
